ABOUT

Dr Ameera Kawash is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and startup founder. 

She earned a PhD from the Royal College of Art in 2022.  Her thesis focused on how artists can radically retool existing technologies as an artistic and social practice.

Currently, she is exploring painting and pattern-making in relation to diasporic identity. She is also researching generative AI in popular culture and its impact on Palestinian narratives and representation.

Her digital work spans examining repressive and discriminatory tech and creating place-based and localised approaches to sustainability.

Her articles have been published in Al Jazeera, The New Arab, and +972 among others.


She is a co-founder of Orbital Bloom, a startup at the intersection of art and sustainability.  Orbital Bloom was a Terra Carta Design Lab finalist and a recipient of an Innovate UK grant. 

She is Palestinian-Iraqi-American and based in the UK.
